These gentle elephants rushed to protect a woman by forming a giant umbrella during a heavy downpour in Thailand.
Lek Chailert, founder of Save Elephant Foundation and Elephant Nature Park, was walking through the reserve when rain suddenly poured down.
Within seconds, five elephants sprinted toward her, leaving Lek stunned by their unexpected act of care.
Herd Turns Into Umbrella
In touching footage, two elephants used their trunks to shield Lek, covering her as if she were part of the herd.
Others, including Faa Mai, Thong Ae, and Cha Ba, positioned their massive bodies around her as the storm intensified.
Lek admitted she never imagined the animals would protect her from the rain, calling the scene “a very touching moment.”
Bond Like Family
In another clip, Lek can be seen singing a lullaby while two elephants shelter her from yet another unexpected shower.
Speaking about their bond, Lek said: “The relationship between me and the elephants is very deep. They are my family.”
She added: “We’ve lived together for years, and there’s a strong trust and love between us.”
Lek explained that the elephants often treat her as though she’s their baby.
“They always try to protect me,” she said. “Every time they see me, they behave as if I’m one of their own.”
The footage has gone viral online, with viewers describing it as one of the most heartwarming displays of animal intelligence.
Fans praised the animals for their protective instincts, saying it showed just how deep the human-elephant bond can truly be.
