Tina Turner Shared Heartbreaking Instagram Post Before Her Death

Legendary singer Tina Turner shared an ominous last Instagram post two months before her sad passing yesterday, at the age of 83.

The icon had opened up about her health on International World Kidney Day on March 9th of this year and revealed that she had put herself in ‘grave danger’ by choosing to not take her 1978 hypertension diagnosis more seriously.

‘My kidneys are victims of my not realising that my high blood pressure should have been treated with conventional medicine,’ Turner wrote. ‘I have put myself in great danger by refusing to face the reality that I need daily, lifelong therapy with medication.

The iconic singer died on Wednesday in her home in Switzerland after an unspecified illness. It is not yet clear if her kidneys played a part in her death, at the age of 83.

The ‘Simply the Best’ artist wrote: ‘For far too long I believed that my body was an untouchable and indestructible bastion.’

In an interview with the Guardian back in April, Turner revealed how she would want to be remembered upon her passing.

She revealed she would like to be known ‘As the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. As a woman who showed other women that it is OK to strive for success on their own terms.’

Former President Obama paid tribute to the late icon by posting a story on Instagram alongside a photo of the artist in her prime:

RIP to a legend, she will always be remembered.
