Sharon Stone, celebrated actress and Hollywood icon, marked her 65th birthday with a dramatic transformation that captured the attention of fans and fellow celebrities alike. On March 10, she took to her Instagram account to share a photo revealing her significantly plumped-up lips, a look achieved with a novelty candy called Wax Lips.
In the photograph, Stone appeared relaxed in black and white polka-dotted pajamas, accompanied by oversized black reading glasses. Her hair seemed tousled, as if she had just awakened, and in another snapshot, she posed with a birthday balloon. The celebratory post included a caption that read, “I did it. Finally. For my birthday I went Hollywood. Sometimes u get EXACTLY what u wish for.”
Many of Stone’s followers, including fans and fellow celebrities, embraced her new dramatic look. Octavia Spencer, known for her role in “The Help,” enthusiastically wished her a happy birthday, stating, “Happy birthday!! This is why we love you!!” Broadway singer Kristin Chenoweth humorously mentioned that she had a similar pair on her nightstand.
Some fans playfully commented on Stone’s transformation, with one remarking, “You can barely tell the difference. Nicely done,” while another suggested, “I would go for a bit more… but I understand you wanted to look as natural as possible!!! Maybe you can have a little top-up next time.”
However, Stone’s journey with cosmetic procedures has had its ups and downs. She had openly discussed undergoing Botox treatments frequently until she experienced a stroke that forced her to reconsider such procedures. In a Vogue Arabia cover story from last September, Stone disclosed, “There were periods in the super fame when I got Botox and filler and stuff, and then I had this massive stroke and a nine-day brain hemorrhage and I had to have over 300 shots of Botox and filler to make the one side of my face come up again.” This life-altering experience shifted her perspective on cosmetic surgeries, transforming them from a “cute luxury” to a “massive, painful neurological need.”
Stone’s birthday celebration also comes on the heels of her revelation on the Table for Two podcast regarding the custody battle she endured for her eldest child, Roan Joseph Bronstein. She adopted Roan and shared custody with her ex-husband, Phil Bronstein, but ultimately lost primary custody. This loss was attributed in part to the well-known scene in her award-winning film, “Basic Instinct.”
In the podcast interview with host Bruce Bozzi, Stone candidly discussed the impact the movie had on her custody battle, recounting a painful episode in court: “When the judge asked my child – my tiny little boy: ‘Do you know your mother makes sex movies?’ Like, this kind of abuse by the system – that I was considered what kind of parent I was because I made that movie. People are walking around with no clothes on at all on regular TV now and you saw maybe like a 16th of a second of possible nudity of me – and I lost custody of my child.”
Stone went on to adopt two more sons, Quinn Kelly Stone and Laird Vonne Stone, but she shared during the podcast interview the profound emotional toll that losing custody of Roan had taken on her health. She disclosed, “I ended up in the Mayo Clinic with extra heartbeats in the upper and lower chamber of my heart. It broke my heart.”
Sharon Stone’s birthday celebration was a mix of personal transformation, reflection on her past experiences, and the enduring love she has for her children. Her candidness continues to resonate with fans and serve as an example of resilience and strength in the face of adversity.
