The mayor of Tampa has issued a heartbreaking warning to Florida residents.
Mayor Jane Castor said: “If you choose to stay … you are going to die,” on CNN.

Hurricane Milton is a Category 5 event that will have a catastrophic effect on the area and its residents.
The storm is set to hit Florida as early as Wednesday and is expected to be even deadlier than Hurricane Helene which hit the state just last week.
The Mayor warned that attempting to hunker down and stay for the storm, would be a fatal decision. That residents must flee for their own safety.
She said; “I can tell you right now they might have done that in others, there’s never been one like this,”, “And Helene was a wakeup call, this is literally catastrophic.”
“And I can say without any dramatization whatsoever if you choose to stay in one of those evacuation areas, you’re gonna die.”
Experts have predicted that the storm will only get worse as it reaches Florida.
She added; “This is something that I’ve never seen in my life and I can tell you anyone born and raised in the Tampa Bay area has never seen anything like this before,”, “People need to get out.”
“If we have this predicted storm surge, this is not survivable,”
Stay safe.
