According to royal biographer Tom Bower, there was tension between Kate Middleton and Queen Camilla at King Charles’ coronation on May 6.
Bower claimed that Middleton was “angry” with the queen over the guest list, as Camilla had 20 people present while Middleton could only invite four of her family members.
This alleged discontent led Middleton to refuse to curtsy to the monarch as she left Westminster Abbey.
During an appearance on “Dan Wootton Tonight,” Bower revealed that those who played a role in changing Camilla’s image from the king’s mistress to queen were also excluded from the high-profile event.
Bower observed that in the coronation footage, everyone bowed and curtsied to the king, but no one acknowledged Camilla. He stated that this was because people were angry with her.
The tension extended to the following day’s coronation concert, where Prince William made no reference to Queen Camilla in his speech, according to Bower.
He noted that there was a noticeable tension between Kate and Camilla and that the exclusion of certain individuals from the coronation had caused anger among those present.
Bower also mentioned that Camilla appeared exhausted in the weeks leading up to the event.
He described her as a “very tired, very worn-out woman with telltale signs of age” and stated that she seemed overwhelmed by the whole situation.
This incident is not the first time Queen Camilla has been accused of pushing people away.
Royal expert Christopher Andersen claimed that she has further alienated Prince Harry from his father by using the argument that Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals. Andersen suggested that Camilla reminds Charles of the negative portrayal of her in Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” whenever he considers reconciling with his son.
These reports shed light on the alleged tensions within the royal family surrounding the coronation and suggest that relationships between key figures remain strained.
