A young vegan woman has tragically died aged just 27 after living on an extreme ‘fruitarian’ diet.
Karolina Krzyzak, originally from Poland, adopted the strict eating regime at 19 after becoming obsessed with body image and “clean eating.”
She later attended Leeds University in the UK before moving abroad, eventually travelling to Bali in 2024.
Found Dead In Bali Resort
Krzyzak was staying at the Sumberkima Hill resort when hotel staff made the devastating discovery of her body.
Staff recalled that when she first arrived in December, her appearance raised serious concerns.
Her collarbones were visibly sticking out, and her eyes were sunken.
They offered to call a doctor, but she refused and instead left strict instructions to be served only fruit.

Three days later, a local café owner contacted the resort, worried after not hearing from Krzyzak.
When staff went to check, they found her lifeless.
Obsession With Fruitarian Lifestyle
Krzyzak often posted on Instagram, telling followers veganism had “opened her eyes” and that she was “grateful” for discovering it.
The fruitarian diet pushes followers to eat only raw fruit, cutting out fats, proteins, and omega-3s entirely.
Her parents had previously begged her to return to Poland for treatment after noticing severe weight loss.
Although she briefly complied, she quickly resumed her extreme diet once back in Bali.
Visible Signs Of Malnutrition
Friends revealed she had started losing her teeth and developed yellow nails as her health deteriorated.

One fruitarian health coach estimated she weighed less than 60 pounds when they met her.
At the time of her death, reports suggest she weighed only 49 pounds.
Friends said she consistently refused medical help, insisting she was happy with her choices.
But one added: “She needed both medical and psychological support, yet the community often validated her behaviour instead.”
