Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are making headlines as reports suggest that the two have been spending time together for a few weeks.
The “Cruel Summer” songstress and the hunky football player’s alleged connection began when Kelce tried to give Swift his phone number at one of her recent Eras Tour concerts, although his attempt didn’t quite go as planned, according to the Messenger.
An insider shared, “Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out. She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago.”
While neither star has directly addressed the romance rumors, Kelce did confirm his recent presence in New York during the August 31 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. When asked about his activities during his time off, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end tried to keep things vague, stating, “What did I do? I can’t remember. I don’t think I did much.” However, he eventually revealed, “I think I was up in New York,” before swiftly changing the subject.
During the podcast, Travis and his older brother Jason Kelce discussed Travis’ mustache and whether Taylor Swift had an opinion about it. Travis humorously deflected the question, saying, “Um, yeah, we are not going to bring up Taylor Swift in this episode.” However, he added with a laugh, “But something tells me she is going to like it.”
This playful comment came just over a month after Travis Kelce confessed his plan to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number ahead of her show in Kansas City. He expressed his disappointment at not being able to personally hand her the bracelet, explaining that Swift doesn’t typically meet fans before or after her shows to preserve her voice for her performances.
Travis, inspired by the tradition of exchanging friendship bracelets among Swifties at her concerts, wanted to give her one with his number. When asked whether he meant his jersey number or his phone number, Travis cheekily replied, “You know which one.” He added, “She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me. So, I took it personal.”
While it remains unclear when Taylor Swift learned of Travis Kelce’s sweet gesture, it appears that it eventually led to their rumored romance.
Before her speculated relationship with the NFL star, Swift was linked to the 1975’s Matty Healy following her split from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Swift and the “Harriet” actor had been together for six years before parting ways at the beginning of 2023.
On the other hand, Travis Kelce recently ended his long-term relationship with model Kayla Nicole, whom he dated on and off for five years.
