‘Sick and Upset’ Vegan Sends Angry Letter to Neighbor over BBQ

A vegan resident in Perth, Australia, who claimed that the smell of cooking meat made them “sick and upset” has sent another letter to their neighbor over a barbecue.

The original handwritten letter was titled “Important message” and requested that the neighbor close their window when cooking meat because the smell made them feel unwell.

The note was signed by Sarah, Wayne, and their children and was shared on social media, where it went viral.

The plant-based neighbor has now issued a “last warning” to their meat-cooking neighbor during a party.

The follow-up letter accused the recipient, Kylie, of being “downright rude” for not keeping the meaty aromas under wraps. The neighbor threatened to report Kylie and take to social media if they continued to host BBQs and cook meat with the window open.

The incident has reignited the debate between plant-based eaters and carnivores over the correct etiquette when it comes to cooking meat and the impact of the smell on neighbors.

Facebook users shared their opinions on the matter, with some suggesting that it is not fair to impose dietary restrictions on others and that people have the right to cook whatever they want in their own kitchen.

Others felt that it was a matter of common courtesy to respect one’s neighbors’ ethical beliefs and make an effort to minimize the impact of cooking smells on them.
