New ‘Logo of Death’ Affecting iPhone 15 Leaving Phone Unusable

Several problems have come to light, ranging from the device failing the bend test to overheating to the point where it becomes too hot to handle.

Perhaps the most significant concern, though, centers around data transfer from older devices to the iPhone 15.

Transferring data from one phone to another can be a meticulous process, particularly for those with substantial amounts of data to migrate.

For some users, the transfer itself appears to go smoothly, but their new iPhone 15 encounters delays when trying to boot up.

Instead of a swift startup, the device displays what users have dubbed the ‘logo of death’ on the screen, sometimes for hours on end.

One user took to social media to express their frustration, saying, “I’ve transferred all the data from my old phone to my new phone, and for the past five hours, it’s been just sitting at the end of being finished (Apple logo with status bar). Won’t turn off, either.” They added, “Just how long will I be without a freakin’ functioning phone.”

To address this issue, Apple published a solution before officially shipping the phones: users can download the latest iOS system, version 17.0.2, to resolve the problem.

However, some users, including Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, claimed they did not receive any notification to download the update when they powered on their new phones.

For those who find themselves stuck with the Apple logo on their screen, the solution involves restoring the phone by connecting it to a computer using a cable.

Despite the technical hurdles, the iPhone 15 garnered substantial interest upon its release on September 12. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives reported that pre-orders for the iPhone 15 exceeded those for the previous model, the iPhone 14, by somewhere between 10% and 12%.

Despite the strong pre-order numbers, some users expressed disappointment with the new model, branding it ‘underwhelming.’ One dissatisfied user took to Twitter, saying, “I’ll never leave Apple, but the iPhone 11-15 are all the same exact phones.” They added, “Apple’s lack of innovation and progress from their phones is very disappointing.”

One of the most noticeable changes in the new model is the shift from Apple’s proprietary lightning cable to a USB-C charger for charging the phone. This alteration came about following pressure from European regulators, who urged the tech giant to adopt the USB-C port for EU markets. USB-C charging ports have become an industry standard on various devices, including Apple products like iPads and MacBooks.
