Akon was arrested last week in DeKalb County, Georgia, according to new police records.
The “Locked Up” singer, whose real name is Aliaune Thiam, was taken in by Chamblee Police on Friday morning.
He spent around six hours in jail before being released.
His mugshot shows him stone-faced in a black hoodie, looking calm but unimpressed.
Officers said they arrested him after Flock security cameras alerted them.

The system flagged a car registered to someone with an out-of-county warrant at Tint World, an auto styling shop.
Akon had dropped off his vehicle there shortly before the alert.
According to the arrest report obtained by The Independent, Akon, 52, stayed calm and told officers he already knew about the warrant.
Warrant Came From a Tesla Breakdown and a Suspended License
Akon was wanted in Roswell, Georgia, over an incident two months earlier.
Police had found him stranded after the battery died in his Tesla Cybertruck.
Officers towed the car and discovered Akon had a suspended license for a failure to appear back in January 2023.
They issued him a citation, took his license, and confiscated an illegal vape found in the center console.
Akon hasn’t commented publicly on the arrest.
However, his spokesperson told The Independent the entire situation was a mistake.
“Due to a clerical issue the suspended license should have never been escalated, it was paid but not properly entered into the system. This will be soon rectified in the courts in early December,” the rep said.
Despite the arrest, Akon continued posting on social media as normal.

He even uploaded a video on Wednesday morning captioned, “It’s a beautiful day
Akon’s Past Drama and His Latest Legal Trouble
Akon became a global star in the early 2000s with hits like “Locked Up,” “Smack That,” “Lonely,” and “I Wanna Love You.”
He also gained attention for claiming he was a former gang leader and convicted felon.
But a 2008 Smoking Gun investigation revealed he exaggerated his criminal past.
He had been arrested six times but only convicted once.
He pleaded guilty to gun possession in New Jersey in 1998 and received three years of probation.
The singer also made recent headlines when his wife, Tomeka Thiam, filed for divorce in September after 28 years of marriage.
Akon, a father of nine, is seeking joint legal custody and sole physical custody of their 17-year-old daughter.
He’s also asking for spousal support.
More updates are expected once the court reviews his suspended-license mix-up in December.
