Jennifer Love Hewitt has hit back at trolls after being called “unrecognizable” in new social media posts.
The 45-year-old actress, known for I Know What You Did Last Summer and Ghost Whisperer, sparked a wave of online chatter.
Her appearance was put under the microscope after hairstylist Nikki Lee posted a video of Hewitt’s fresh new bob.
Lee captioned the clip: “Was time to spice things up.”
Plenty of fans loved the look, rushing to the comments to shower Hewitt with praise.
One person wrote: “Love your hairstyle.”
Another added: “Beautiful as always.”
A third chimed in: “That haircut looks amazing on you.”
But not everyone was so kind.
Trolls claim she’s had work done
Several users accused the actress of going under the knife and altering her appearance.
“Wow… she doesn’t look like herself anymore,” one person wrote.
Another bluntly asked: “Where is Jennifer? That looks nothing like her.”
The speculation about cosmetic procedures spread quickly, fueling a stream of criticism.
Hewitt claps back
Rather than ignore the trolls, Hewitt leaned into the noise with a cheeky comeback.
She posted a series of selfies using exaggerated filters that distorted her face in bizarre ways.
One filter gave her anime-style eyes, while another warped her features into cartoonish extremes.
Alongside the snaps, she added tongue-in-cheek captions aimed squarely at her critics.
“So many people said I look different. I look the same as always,” she wrote.
“Couldn’t look more natural. I woke up like this. Filters don’t change you that much.”
She wrapped up the post with a simple message: “Let people be filtered or unfiltered. Be good. Be kind. Spread love.”
Not the first time
This isn’t the first time Hewitt has faced comments about her looks.
Earlier this year, she shared a selfie to celebrate her 44th birthday.
In the caption, she reflected on her life and opened up about ageing.
“I am deeply grateful, blessed, happy, sometimes insecure about ageing, a mom of three incredible babies,” she wrote.
She added that she was “married to the most handsome and awesome man” and excited for what the year would bring.
“I feel magic in the air and I love magic. Off to work… thank you mom for giving me life.”
But even that heartfelt post was hijacked by trolls questioning her appearance.
Some said she didn’t look the same, while others insisted she’d changed “too much.”
Fans defend her
Despite the negativity, many fans have rushed to defend the actress.
Supporters praised her sense of humour, positivity, and willingness to address the trolling head-on.
One wrote: “Jennifer is still stunning. People just love to complain.”
Another added: “She’s ageing gracefully and she’s hilarious. Leave her alone.”
For Hewitt, the message is clear: she’s not letting the online criticism break her spirit.
