Identical twins engaged to the same man explain their unusual relationship

Identical twins who are in a relationship with the same man have finally answered the question everyone always asks.

Australian sisters Anna and Lucy DeCinque have become global talking points because of their intensely synchronized lifestyle.

The Perth-based twins share clothes, careers, cosmetic procedures, and even a fiancé.

They have both been dating electrician Ben Byrnes since 2011.

The sisters call themselves the “world’s most identical twins” and appear on TLC’s Extreme Sisters.

On the show, they openly discuss their unconventional relationship and how far they go to remain identical.

How the three-way relationship works

Ben proposed to both sisters during a romantic picnic, presenting matching rings to each twin.

The rings featured three bands, symbolising the trio and their shared commitment.

The proposal came after more than a decade of dating, according to The Independent.

The twins say Ben has always treated them equally and never separates them.

“He never takes one of us out alone,” they explained.

If Ben kisses one sister, he immediately kisses the other to keep things balanced. Anna said Ben fully accepts their identical lifestyle and never judges them.

Lucy added that their dynamic gives Ben “double the love and double the attention.”

The twins’ extreme synchronized lifestyle

Anna and Lucy’s bond goes far beyond typical sibling closeness. They shower together, eat identical meals, and even coordinate bathroom visits.

“If one goes to the toilet, the other must go too,” Lucy explained.

They measure food portions to ensure everything is exactly the same.

“It’s stressful being us because everything must be identical,” they admitted.

The twins work the same job, with one paid and the other volunteering for legal reasons. They often speak in unison and finish each other’s sentences.

They have spent nearly $250,000 on cosmetic procedures to stay identical. These include lip fillers, breast implants, facial tattooing, and other treatments.

Although some procedures were later reversed, their commitment remains unchanged.

Shared dreams of motherhood

The twins have also spoken about wanting to become pregnant at the same time.

During Extreme Sisters, they practiced with lifelike baby dolls. However, they have faced fertility challenges, with one sister struggling to conceive.

“We feel like we’re one person,” they said.

They explained that whatever happens, they want to experience it together.

The sisters have considered IVF to increase the chance of simultaneous pregnancy. They admitted there is “a lot of pressure” on Ben to make it happen.

Their mother has encouraged natural birth, though they remain unsure how that would work.

Why they cannot legally marry

Although engaged, the trio cannot legally marry in Australia. Polygamy is banned under the Australian Marriage Act 1961.

“We would love to marry him, but the law says we can’t,” the sisters said.

Ben has promised to do whatever it takes to make them happy.

The twins have suggested marrying overseas where laws may differ.

“If we could change the law, we would,” Anna said.

“Love is love, and we’re all adults.”

The question everyone always asks

The most common question about their relationship is about their s** life.

The twins finally addressed it on Hughesy, We Have a Problem. They revealed they all sleep in an oversized king-size bed.

Anna and Lucy sleep on either side of Ben. When asked if both are present during intimacy, they answered yes.

They take turns being intimate while remaining in the same bed.

“There’s no jealousy,” Lucy explained.

“If Ben kisses Anna, he kisses me too.”

Facing criticism and standing firm

The sisters have faced heavy criticism online over their lifestyle. Despite this, they insist they are happy and hurting no one.

“People don’t have to agree, but they should accept it,” they said.

They believe Extreme Sisters made them realise how inseparable they truly are.

“This is how we want to live,” they concluded.

“We want to grow old together and die together.”
