Hilary Duff is officially back in the music game.
The former Disney star has announced her sixth studio album, titled “Luck…or Something,” dropping February 20 under Atlantic Records.
Yes, it’s been a full decade since her last album, and fans are understandably emotional.
She first teased her music comeback in September and has been slowly feeding fans small bites ever since.
The first single, “Mature,” arrived in early November and immediately lit up social media.
Speaking about the album’s meaning, Duff said: “I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry. The album title is my way of answering that question. It’s luck, but there’s also a lot of weight in the ‘…or something’. Many of the things I’ve been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me.”
The statement pretty much sent fans into meltdown mode.
She’s Also Releasing a Docuseries About Her Music Comeback
In September, Hilary announced she signed with Atlantic Records and was working on a docuseries following her return to music.
The series will be directed and produced by Sam Wrench, who worked on “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and “A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter.”
The docuseries promises to show the “ups, downs and everything in between.” Fans will watch Duff juggle mum life, recording sessions, rehearsals and her first live performances in over ten years.
Basically, she’s giving us the real Hilary Duff experience. No filters.
Mini Tour Is Already Locked In
Before the album drops, Duff is heading out on a mini tour called “Small Rooms, Big Nerves.” It kicks off in London on January 19, then heads to Toronto on January 24, and Brooklyn on January 27. The final show lands in Los Angeles at The Wiltern on January 29.
Hilary co-wrote “Mature” with her husband Matthew Koma and songwriter Madison Love, marking her first official step back into music.
Fans are calling this her “comeback era,” and honestly, it feels like it.
