‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner Allegedly Dumped Secret Girlfriend for Gaining Weight

In the glittering world of reality television, the allure of fame and love often intertwines, creating a narrative that captivates audiences. However, not everything that sparkles is gold, as a recent revelation about “The Golden Bachelor” star Gerry Turner suggests.

A woman, known only as “Carolyn,” has stepped forward with claims that she was romantically involved with Gerry Turner, only to be dumped allegedly because she gained weight.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Carolyn disclosed that her relationship with Turner spanned ten months, culminating in her relocation to his lakeside residence on Big Long Lake in Hudson, Indiana.

Text messages exchanged between Turner and Carolyn on September 2, 2017, and scrutinized by THR reveal a seemingly affectionate tone. Turner expressed, “D–m, I go to bed at night thinking of you and wake up in the morning thinking of you.” Astonishingly, this message occurred less than three months after Turner’s wife of 43 years, Toni, passed away from an infection, a loss he claimed left him heartbroken.

According to Carolyn, she moved into Turner’s lake house in July 2018. However, the relationship took an unexpected turn, reaching its conclusion just before Turner’s high school reunion in October 2019.

Carolyn alleges that Turner cited her physical appearance, particularly a weight gain of 10 pounds due to stress, as the reason for the breakup. “I’m not taking you to the reunion looking like that,” Turner reportedly told her.

The parting was not amicable, with Turner demanding Carolyn vacate the house by January 1, 2020.

The situation escalated when Carolyn suffered an injury while packing, resulting in a visit to the emergency room. Turner was purportedly not present at the time, and Carolyn claims he accused her of deliberately causing the fall to extend her stay in the house.

Adding to the tumultuous aftermath, Turner allegedly insisted that Carolyn find accommodation in a hotel during the two weeks’ notice period at her job instead of allowing her to stay in the house. “I really wish this would’ve worked out,” Carolyn recalled Turner saying. “Call me when you get to your hotel, so I know you made it safe.”

The timing of these revelations coincides with the impending finale of “The Golden Bachelor,” scheduled to air on ABC at 8 PM EST on Thursday. In this finale, Turner must make a crucial decision between two remaining contestants, Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist.

As the glittering facade of reality television reveals cracks in the story of Gerry Turner, questions arise about the authenticity of love and commitment in the pursuit of on-screen romance. The revelations surrounding Turner’s alleged actions challenge the notion that glitz and glamour always equate to a genuine quest for love on reality TV.
