Fake Lizzo McDonald’s Meal Attempts to Body Shame Singer

A fabricated “signature meal” supposedly offered by McDonald’s under the name of singer Lizzo has recently surfaced on social media. However, it’s important to note that this concocted meal is entirely fictitious and appears to have been created with the malicious intent of body-shaming the renowned artist.

The fraudulent post features an image of McDonald’s classic burgers, fries, and nuggets, masquerading as a genuine news report. In the post, it boldly proclaims the impending release of a “New McDonald’s ‘Lizzo Meal,’” followed by a description of the contents, which include “10 burgers, 95 nuggets & 6 Diet Cokes.” The post goes even further by falsely asserting that this assortment represents Lizzo’s daily dietary intake, a malicious attempt to demean the 35-year-old singer based on her body image.

This deceptive post emerges amidst a backdrop of recent allegations made against Lizzo earlier this year. In a troubling turn of events, it was reported during the summer that Lizzo was facing a lawsuit filed by former members of her dance troupe. The lawsuit alleged instances of sexual harassment and weight-shaming within the professional setting.

Lizzo responded to the 44-page lawsuit on her social media platforms, taking a firm stance on the matter. She expressed her unwavering commitment to upholding the dignity and respect due to women worldwide, emphasizing that this issue was one she took very seriously. In her statement, she characterized the allegations as “as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous not to be addressed.”

Interestingly, in an interview that had been recorded prior to the lawsuit allegations becoming public, Lizzo had hinted at her emotional state, alluding to feelings of sadness. This revelation has sparked speculation that she may have had prior knowledge of the impending storm surrounding her.

A pre-recorded interview with Lizzo, conducted for the television program “60 Minutes,” was subsequently released, revealing her candid remarks about her emotional state. During the interview, which occurred before the lawsuit allegations came to light, Lizzo shared her inner turmoil with host Tom Steinfort. She admitted, “Even today, I was having a rough day. I was sad and stuff earlier today.” Despite her personal challenges, Lizzo noted that, somehow, people continued to find inspiration or positivity in her presence, suggesting that she may possess the ability to transmute her own struggles into something constructive, akin to an alchemist.

In conclusion, the emergence of the counterfeit “Lizzo Meal” from McDonald’s serves as a disheartening example of online deception, with individuals spreading false information in an attempt to body-shame a prominent artist. Lizzo’s response to this fabricated meal, as well as her earlier statements regarding the lawsuit, reflects her unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of respect and dignity for women. As her journey unfolds amidst these challenges, Lizzo’s resilience and determination continue to shine through.
