TikTok and Instagram star Mia Khalifa says she was treated “like a toy” during her short time in adult films.
The former performer, now 32, became one of the most recognizable names in the industry — despite making only 11 scenes in three months.
Since leaving adult entertainment, she has tried different careers, including writing, podcasting, and even sports broadcasting.
Her huge online following lets her speak openly about the treatment she faced in the industry.
Khalifa recently appeared on Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett, where she opened up about her toxic past.

She now goes by her birth name, Sarah Joe Chamoun, and says her ex-husband pressured her into adult films when she was just 20.
Khalifa says she fell into a situation “a lot of girls get into” when they are young and inexperienced.
She claims she never saw the relationship as real love.
“I even feel weird calling it a relationship,” she said. “It was someone who saw a toy to play with.”
She Says She Was Manipulated and Controlled at 18
Khalifa revealed she eloped to Las Vegas only four days after her 18th birthday.
“I didn’t have a sense of self,” she said. “I attached myself to someone happy to abuse that.”
She explained that being eager to please made her easy to manipulate, calling the situation “the perfect storm.”
Khalifa has also discussed how adult content affects men’s expectations in relationships.

During a BBC HARDtalk interview, she said: “Men expect what they see in videos, but it isn’t real life.”
“No one is doing those acts on a random Wednesday night with someone they love,” she added.
Khalifa admitted she originally wanted to join the industry because it felt like a “dirty little secret.”
But things escalated fast. Within two months, she became the most-viewed performer on Pornhub.
She also drew huge global attention — especially in the Middle East — after wearing a hijab in a video, sparking serious controversy.
