Eminem Makes History as He Becomes the ’10th Greatest Selling Artist of All Time’

Eminem, the iconic musician and rap legend, continues to make history in the music industry by securing his place among the top-selling artists of all time. His remarkable achievements have propelled him into the prestigious ranks of the highest-selling artists, solidifying his impact on the world of music.

Chart Masters, an authority in the music industry known for providing the most accurate data, utilizes two comprehensive methods to determine their rankings: the CSPC (commensurate sales to popularity concept) method and the ASR (artist success rate) model. These methodologies consider various factors, including studio albums, LPs, physical units sold, digital singles sold, and streams, to compile their list of the highest-selling artists of all time.

Eminem has now etched his name into the top 10 of this illustrious list. He previously occupied the 11th position, trailing behind the iconic band Led Zeppelin. However, Eminem recently surpassed Led Zeppelin with an impressive 207,262,000 sales, securing his spot among the elite.

At the pinnacle of this list is The Beatles, holding the crown with a staggering 423,619,000 sales. Michael Jackson follows closely behind with 338 million, while Elvis Presley boasts 321 million sales. The esteemed ranks of the top 10 include Queen with 279 million, Madonna with 248 million, and other music legends such as The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra, and Elton John.

Notably, Eminem stands out as the sole modern artist in this elite list and is the only rapper among this distinguished group of musical legends. He has established a substantial lead over his fellow rap competitors, with Drake ranking 41st, Kanye West at 61st, and 2Pac at 73rd.

Eminem’s illustrious career spans 11 studio albums and three collaborative records. He dominated the music scene as the best-selling musical artist in the United States from 2000 to 2009, as confirmed by Nielsen SoundScan. Additionally, he held the title of the best-selling male music artist in the United States throughout the 2010s.

Eminem’s impact on the hip-hop genre is evident through his six diamond certifications, a record number in hip-hop. He also claimed the title of the most certified artist in RIAA history in the previous year.

While Eminem boasts an impressive catalog of chart-toppers and unforgettable tracks, there is one song that he refuses to perform in recent times due to its controversial and hard-hitting lyrics. “Cleanin’ Out My Closet,” a 2002 diss track, delves into Eminem’s tumultuous relationship with his mother, Debbie. In the song, he refers to her as a “selfish b***h” and expresses harsh sentiments, including wishing she would “burn in hell.” Eminem accuses his mother of prescription pill use and vows to prevent her from seeing his daughter, Hailie.

However, the rapper has since undergone a change of heart and released an apology track titled “Headlights” decades later. In this song, Eminem reveals the reasons behind distancing himself from his earlier work, demonstrating his growth as an artist and individual.

Eminem’s journey to becoming one of the top-selling artists of all time is a testament to his immense talent, influence, and enduring legacy in the world of music. His contributions to hip-hop and the broader music industry continue to be celebrated by fans and critics alike.
