Amber Heard Shares Rare Glimpse Into Quiet New Life in Spain

Amber Heard has given fans a rare look into her life in Spain, years after leaving Hollywood behind.

The Aquaman star moved to Europe for a fresh start following her highly publicised defamation trial against Johnny Depp.

Depp was awarded $15 million in damages, later capped at $10.35 million due to legal limits. Heard was awarded $2 million in her countersuit.

After the exhausting and deeply publicised courtroom battle, she relocated to Mallorca with her daughter before later settling in Madrid.

Local reports from El Diario de Mallorca even claimed she began using a different name — Martha Jane Cannary — the real name of sharpshooter Calamity Jane.

Heard has never publicly confirmed that detail, but it fuelled speculation that she wanted distance from her former life. She has mostly stayed out of headlines, focusing on quiet family life and rebuilding away from the intense glare of the US media.

Her last major on-screen appearance came in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which released two years ago. Since then, she has avoided promotional tours and limited press exposure, choosing privacy over Hollywood pressure.

Her social media posts have been sparse, often brief glimpses rather than full updates.

Thanksgiving Memories and Family Snaps

Heard recently shared a warm Thanksgiving post featuring several photos from holidays over the past few years.

The images showed her cooking in the kitchen, smiling with loved ones, and spending time around the table.

She captioned the post: “Thanksgiving cheers over the years. A look back at all the full hearts and plates I’ve shared. Hoping you are well topped up on both this year.”

She continues to share small moments from her life in Spain, including Halloween photos of her trick-or-treating with her children around her neighbourhood.

On Mother’s Day, she used the same platform to announce the arrival of her twins, named Agnes and Ocean, sharing heartfelt words about motherhood.

Her community in Madrid seems to appreciate discretion. According to a neighbour who spoke with MailOnline, her family has “completely integrated into the community” where celebrities quietly coexist without constant attention.

They said paparazzi occasionally appear, but most residents simply leave her alone. “No one here really knows who she is,” the neighbour explained, noting many famous footballers also live nearby with minimal fuss.

Returning to Acting — But on Her Own Terms

Despite her quiet life abroad, Heard recently stepped back into acting. Earlier this year, she joined the cast of Spirit of the People, a small theatre production staged in Massachusetts.

She called it her “theatre era,” celebrating the shift from movies to live performance.

Playwright Jeremy O. Harris revealed the show was partly performed in Spanish, making use of Heard’s fluency in the language.

Several nights of performances gave her a chance to reconnect with audiences in a more intimate setting, far removed from blockbuster expectations.

The work marks her first significant acting appearance since her legal battle with Depp. It also signals that she isn’t retiring from film or theatre — just choosing what feels right for her family and wellbeing.

She seems determined to rebuild a career on her own timing, without the noise that once surrounded her name.

For now, Heard appears content raising her children in peace, sharing life’s milestones when she wishes, and embracing a slower existence thousands of miles from Hollywood.
