Will Poulter had a Heartbreaking Reason for Going as Sid from Toy Story for Halloween

Will Poulter, the 30-year-old British actor, made a bold statement by dressing up as Sid Phillips from the iconic movie franchise, Toy Story, for Halloween in 2017.

This move may have raised some eyebrows, as Poulter had previously expressed his dislike for the comparisons drawn between him and the character Sid. However, the actor had a heartwarming reason for his decision.

Poulter was “going undercover” on social media as part of a GQ feature during the press tour for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.

While browsing Twitter, he stumbled upon a tweet from a user who was curious about his Sid costume, as the actor had previously expressed his dislike for the comparison.

The user posted a photo of Poulter in Sid’s famous black skull shirt, holding a magnifying glass and a Woody doll and asked why he had dressed up as Sid if he disliked the comparison.

In response, Poulter explained that he dressed up as Sid to raise awareness for an important cause.

He is a spokesperson for Anti-Bullying Pro, an organization founded in 2011 as part of the Diana Award, which aims to train young people in the UK to become anti-bullying ambassadors in their schools. Poulter used the opportunity to raise awareness for the organization during anti-bullying week by dressing up as Sid.

“I did it during anti-bullying week to raise awareness of that organization,” Poulter explained. “So that was that.”

Poulter’s gesture was not only a fun costume for Halloween, but it also raised awareness for a worthy cause. Poulter also took the opportunity to ask his fans to follow Anti-Bullying Pro before they shared or liked his costume photo.

Poulter’s Sid costume was a reminder that bullying is a serious issue that affects many people, and it is important to raise awareness of the impact it can have on people’s lives.

Through his work with Anti-Bullying Pro, Poulter hopes to create a safer and happier environment for young people. His costume was a creative way to bring attention to the issue, and his fans appreciated his gesture.

Poulter is no stranger to the limelight, having starred in several popular films such as The Maze Runner, Son of Rambo, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He is set to play an important role in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, which was released in cinemas on 5 May.

Poulter’s decision to dress up as Sid for Halloween may have been a surprise to some, but his reasoning behind it was both thoughtful and inspiring. The actor’s willingness to use his platform to raise awareness for important issues is a testament to his character, and we can only hope that more people follow his lead. As Poulter said, “let’s make school a safer and happier place for young people.”
