University Of South Florida Basketball Coach Dead Aged 43

University of South Florida basketball coach Amir Abdur-Rahim has sadly died aged 43. 

Michael Kelly, school official, shared; “All of us with South Florida Athletics are grieving with the loved ones of Coach Abdur-Rahim,” 

“He was authentic, driven, and his infectious personality captivated all of Bulls Nation. Coach Abdur-Rahim leaves a lasting impact on our student-athletes, the University, and the community.”

The school shared the sad news on Thursday. His death followed a medical procedure that went wrong but no further details have yet been shared. 

Abdur-Rahim started the programme last season and was beloved by all, making an incredible positive impact on all he worked with. 

Despite only being 43, the legendary coach made huge strides in his career, after graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Arianne and their three children. 

Heartbreaking, RIP.
