Travis Kelce Responds to Aaron Rodgers Calling Him ‘Mr. Pfizer’

Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, displayed his trademark humor when responding to Aaron Rodgers’ recent moniker for him: “Mr. Pfizer.” Rodgers playfully christened Kelce with this title during an interview on “The Pat McAfee Show,” poking fun at Kelce’s new Pfizer commercial appearance.

Following the Chiefs’ victory against the New York Jets in Week 4, Rodgers couldn’t resist commenting on the game, saying, “Pat [Mahomes] didn’t have a crazy game, and Mr. Pfizer [Kelce], we kind of shut him down. He didn’t have his crazy impact game.”

In the true spirit of good-natured banter, Kelce reacted to Rodgers’ humorous remark with his own brand of wit during a Friday interview, remarking, “I thought it was pretty good. With this mustache right now, I look like a guy named Mr. Pfizer. Who knew I’d get into the vax wars with Aaron Rodgers, man? Mr. Pfizer vs. the Johnson and Johnson family over there.”

When probed about his decision to participate in the vaccine promotion, Kelce underlined the importance of safety, reaffirming his commitment to getting vaccinated. He stated, “I got it because of keeping myself safe, keeping my family safe, the people in this building, so yeah, I stand by it 1000%. Fully comfortable with him calling me Mr. Pfizer.”

The irony of Rodgers’ involvement with the Jets this season is not lost on football fans, as he is being compensated by Jets owner Woody Johnson, whose family owns the Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical company. The humorous interplay between these football stars highlights the ongoing dialogue surrounding vaccines and player safety in the NFL.
