‘Teen Mom’ Jenelle Evans’ Son Jace Reported as a Runaway, Cops Searching

A disconcerting turn of events has unfolded for “Teen Mom” luminary Jenelle Evans as her 14-year-old son, Jace, was reported as a runaway. Authorities are currently involved in the search for him.

The Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina has issued a notice regarding a juvenile who has gone missing. Jace was last seen leaving school at approximately 2:45 PM on Tuesday. At the time, he was clad in a gray sweatshirt emblazoned with the words “Classical Charter Schools of America.” In the event that Jace is no longer sporting the sweatshirt, he might be wearing a navy shirt instead. The authorities have urged individuals with any relevant information to promptly dial 911.

While the precise circumstances that led to Jace’s departure remain unclear, insights from Jenelle’s mother, Barbara, shed light on the situation. Barbara recounted her conversation with Jace on Monday evening, characterizing his demeanor as normal. Jace’s actions thus came as a surprise. Additionally, Barbara attempted to reach out to Jenelle earlier on Tuesday to gauge her well-being, given her recent public dispute with her spouse, David Eason. Reportedly, Jenelle expressed a desire for solitude and refrained from engaging in a conversation.

A notable development occurred in March, when Jenelle gained full custody of Jace from her mother, Barbara. This custody change followed a period when Barbara was the primary guardian due to Jenelle’s personal and legal obstacles.

As the search for Jace unfolded, Jenelle’s statement highlighted the complexities of parenting and adolescent behavior, emphasizing that this incident is distinct from any interpersonal issues. The ultimate priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of her son during this challenging period.

Update: August Keen, the manager of Jenelle Evans, shared reassuring news, stating, “Jace has been found, and is safely at home with Jenelle and his family. Thank you to the Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Department and to everyone else for their concerns.”

Latest Update: 3:10 PM PT — The Brunswick Co. Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that Jace has been located and is safe.

Further Update: 2:50 PM PT — Jenelle Evans provided insights into the situation, clarifying, “As a mother of a teenage boy, I recognize that adolescents can sometimes display rebellious behavior, a sentiment many of us can empathize with from our own youth. In this case, Jace encountered trouble at school, prompting us to temporarily confiscate his phone. His reaction was to leave home, but I want to emphasize that Jace is, at his core, a good kid. The challenges we are navigating are part and parcel of raising children, and I assure you this has no correlation to my situation with David. It’s essential to note that we do not engage in disputes or disagreements in front of our children. This incident is primarily about a teenager expressing frustration over the phone restriction.”
