A teacher has resigned after pornography appeared on a classroom projector during a lesson attended by 13 and 14-year-old students.
Razif Nurgaliev, 62, admitted the material was displayed during a physics class, although he said the incident was unintentional.
Footage recorded by a pupil showed explicit scenes visible on the classroom monitor while students were present. The video suggested the teacher was unaware the content was being projected.
Nurgaliev had worked at the school for almost 40 years. The incident happened after he set work for a mixed class in Tashkinovo village near the Russian city of Neftekamsk. Reports said he forgot his laptop was still connected to the electronic blackboard.
A student filmed the sequence from behind a physics textbook as the events unfolded. Early claims from a school source suggested teenagers might have played a prank on the veteran teacher. Nurgaliev later acknowledged the situation to education officials.
“I clicked on something, and some website opened,” he said. He explained he had been attempting to access an online journal and did not intend to view explicit material.
School Response And Ongoing Investigation
School head Rudania Burkhanova said the teacher was in shock after the footage spread online. Parents reacted with anger once the video circulated on social media.
Nurgaliev resigned immediately despite the school indicating it wanted him to remain following what it described as an exemplary career.
A school source said replacing a physics teacher with decades of experience would be difficult. The school described Nurgaliev as valued and respected and said the broadcast of the material appeared accidental. Officials confirmed an internal review was launched after the footage became public.
“A review is currently underway, comments will come later,” Burkhanova said in an initial response. “I need to hear both sides: I have already talked to the children, the parents, and I will talk to the teacher. Only after I hear both sides will I make a decision. No comments yet.”
A law enforcement probe is also underway in the Russian region of Bashkortostan, and the laptop has been confiscated.
