Suzanne Somers’ Official Cause of Death Revealed

The official cause of Suzanne Somers’ passing has now been disclosed. As revealed by her death certificate, which was obtained by The Blast, the iconic actress succumbed to breast cancer that had spread to her brain. The document specifically cited her immediate cause of death as “breast cancer with metastasis to the brain.” While a biopsy confirmed this diagnosis, no autopsy was conducted. Additionally, the death certificate noted other contributing factors, including hypertension and hydrocephalus. Suzanne Somers, best known for her role in “Three’s Company,” peacefully passed away at her home on October 15 after battling cancer for several years. She was 76 at the time of her death.

Just three days after her passing, on October 18, Suzanne Somers’ family and loved ones, including her husband Alan Hamel and her son Bruce Somers, gathered to commemorate what would have been her 77th birthday. A touching video was shared on Suzanne’s Instagram, thanking everyone for their outpouring of love and affection and asking for support from fans and admirers. The family expressed that the most comforting gesture for them would be to hear stories of Suzanne’s enduring impact and cherished memories from her fans. To facilitate this, they established a Tribute Book on SuzanneSomers.com and encouraged people to share their comments there.

Bruce Somers, Suzanne’s son, penned a heartfelt tribute to his “warrior” mother on social media just one day before the birthday commemoration. He began by acknowledging how his mother had achieved great heights and had been an advocate for those without a voice. She was known for asking the questions that needed to be asked. Bruce emphasized the multiple roles Suzanne played in her life, from being a friend, wife, sister, and daughter to her legendary status in the entertainment industry. Despite her iconic status, to him, she was simply “Mom,” and he cherished the privilege of calling her by that name.

Suzanne was not only a mother to her biological son Bruce but also a stepmother to Stephen and Leslie Hamel from her husband’s previous marriage. Furthermore, she enjoyed the role of grandmother to six grandchildren.

Suzanne Somers’ battle with breast cancer dates back to the year 2000 when she received her initial diagnosis. In response, she underwent a lumpectomy and received radiation therapy, opting against chemotherapy. By 2007, she proudly announced to the Los Angeles Times that she was cancer-free.

However, in July of the present year, Suzanne candidly shared with her fans via social media that her cancer had returned. She disclosed the ongoing challenges she faced, acknowledging her past experience with the disease and her commitment to using a combination of the best alternative and conventional treatments to combat it. Suzanne Somers faced her health challenges with a determined spirit, emphasizing her readiness to fight and her enduring resilience in the face of adversity.
