The 94-year-old actor, best known to generations of Trekkies as Captain James T. Kirk, is said to have called 911 himself after experiencing a sudden issue with his blood sugar.
Star Trek icon William Shatner was reportedly rushed to hospital after suffering a medical scare at his Los Angeles home.
Emergency services, including the Los Angeles Fire Department, arrived at his property on Wednesday afternoon before taking him by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
Sources told TMZ the actor is now “resting comfortably” and “doing good” after being evaluated by doctors.

Shatner ‘Doing Well’ Despite Health Scare
The scare sparked concern among fans, as Shatner still has multiple acting projects lined up and was on stage at Dragon Con in Atlanta just last month.
But his agency Talent Works has denied he was hospitalized at all, telling ABC7 News that reports were exaggerated.
The incident comes just a year after Shatner revealed he had beaten stage four melanoma, undergoing surgery and immunotherapy.
It wasn’t his first brush with health fears. In 2016 he was told he had prostate cancer, only to later learn it was a false alarm caused by testosterone supplements.
“That was really scary,” he admitted to NBC News at the time. “I was told I had a terminal disease. That I was going to die.”

From Captain Kirk To Hollywood Veteran
Shatner rose to fame in the 1960s as the fearless commander of the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek series. Starring alongside Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley and Nichelle Nichols.
He reprised the role in the animated series and in the first seven Star Trek films, including fan favourite Wrath of Khan in 1982.
Beyond Trek, he’s also remembered for playing the lead in T.J. Hooker during the 80s, and more recently appeared in Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock.
At 94, he remains in demand, with three projects listed on IMDb and regular appearances at fan conventions.
His Rollercoaster Love Life
Away from the cameras, Shatner’s personal life has often made headlines.
He was married four times, including to Canadian actress Gloria Rand and Marcy Lafferty, before tragedy struck in 1999 when his third wife Nerine Kidd drowned in the couple’s swimming pool.
In 2001, he married equestrian Elizabeth Martin, 30 years his junior. They divorced in 2019 after 18 years together but reconciled during the pandemic.
Just last month, the pair were spotted out to lunch in LA, with Martin wearing a diamond ring that fuelled fresh remarriage rumours.
“They’re like two teenagers in love,” a source told Radar, though Shatner himself has played down talk of a wedding.
Family First
Shatner is also a proud father of three daughters – Leslie, Lisabeth and Melanie – from his first marriage.
Despite health scares and a complicated personal life, the Star Trek legend shows no signs of slowing down.
And after his latest emergency, fans around the world are relieved that their Captain Kirk appears to still be boldly going strong.
