The unveiling of alleged aliens in the Mexican congress has been one of the most peculiar stories of the year, and where there’s surrealism, you can always count on the internet to respond with a flood of memes.
On a Tuesday that will be remembered for its sheer strangeness, a man named Jaime Maussan made headlines by presenting what he claimed were two ancient alien ‘corpses’ to the Mexican congress.
According to Maussan, these aliens were more than 1,000 years old, with 30% of their DNA remaining ‘unknown.’ Intriguingly, these extraterrestrial remains were not recovered from a UFO wreckage but were said to have been found in diatom (algae) mines and subsequently fossilized after being unearthed in the Peruvian city of Cusco.
Despite the bizarre nature of this story, it has captured the attention of many, including the likes of Professor Brian Cox, who noted that the figures appeared “way too humanoid” to be aliens.
