Katherine Heigl Responds to Reporter who Tells Her ‘I’ve Heard you’re Very Rude’

Recently, a video surfaced of Katherine Heigl responding to a reporter who accused her of being rude.

The interview, which reportedly led to a decline in her career, took place during an appearance on The Meredith Vieira Show in November 2014.

Despite the blunt question, Katherine seemed unfazed and ready to address the situation.

The controversy started in 2008 after a cover interview with Vanity Fair, in which Katherine criticized her starring role in the hit movie Knocked Up.

She expressed her concern about the portrayal of women in the film and felt that her character was unnecessarily harsh.

Her comments sparked backlash from the media and the film industry, leading to a negative perception of her in the public eye.

During her appearance on The Meredith Vieira Show, the host wasted no time in asking Katherine about the rumors of her being rude.

In response, Katherine said, “You know what, I’ve been saying I don’t think I am, but I’m going to be really honest right now: I’m not.” She emphasized that she’s not a rude, unkind, or mean person and that she takes her job seriously.

Katherine also addressed the issue of standing up for herself and drawing boundaries, stating, “I will continue to stand up for myself. And I’m not going to stop standing up for my right to be heard, my right to be treated respectfully and professionally in return, my right to draw boundaries. I am a strong woman and I’m not going to apologize for that.”

However, her outspoken nature has not always been well received in the industry.

In 2008, she withdrew her name from Emmy contention for her role in Grey’s Anatomy, which resulted in tensions with the show’s executive producer and head writer, Shonda Rhimes.

Katherine claimed that she didn’t feel she was given material worthy of an Emmy nomination and withdrew her name to “maintain the integrity of the academy organization.”

Katherine’s reputation has caused her much stress and anxiety, and she even sought therapy to cope with the scrutiny. In an interview with Howard Stern in 2016, she revealed, “I was feeling completely like the biggest piece of sh*t on the bottom of your shoe. I was really struggling with it, and how not to take it all really personally, and not to feel there’s something really deeply wrong with me.”

Despite the backlash she has received, Katherine’s fans have come out in support of her.

One comment on the TikTok video of her response to the reporter reads, “She had boundaries and people didn’t like them so they called her rude. Got it.”

The comment has garnered over 3,900 likes, indicating that many people understand and appreciate her stance.
