This may soon change if reports circulating earlier this year prove accurate. Giant Freakin Robot fueled speculation about a sequel to “The Grinch,” asserting that Jim Carrey is set to reprise his role as Dr. Seuss’s infamous and ill-tempered creation in “The Grinch 2.”
The report from February 2023 provided scant details about the storyline of the sequel or whether other actors from the original 2000 film would be making a return.

In a 2017 interview with CinemaBlend, Carrey expressed reservations about sequels, viewing them primarily as a commercial endeavor. He stated, “I find sequels are a function of commerce for the most part. At least the two I’ve done, they were characters I enjoyed doing, but I did find myself almost parroting myself at that point.”
