Hailey Bieber recently addressed the persistent and “disheartening” rumors of her pregnancy, attributing the speculations to nothing more than occasional bloating. In a candid interview with GQ Hype, the 26-year-old model expressed her frustration with the ongoing rumors, acknowledging that fans have jumped to conclusions about her pregnancy “multiple times before.”
While comments about her stomach have become somewhat routine, Hailey admitted that she still finds the situation disheartening. She shared her perspective, stating, “I can’t be bloated one time and not be pregnant? It would be a lie if I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, I don’t give a s–t.’”
Furthermore, Hailey emphasized that when she and her husband, Justin Bieber, decide to start a family, they will ensure that the public is the “last to know.” She also found it somewhat amusing how much attention and speculation her body garners, noting, “It’s just, honestly, at the end of the day, so hilarious how much people f–king care.”
With a sense of personal agency, Hailey urged respect for individuals’ autonomy over their bodies. She explained, “Let me do what I want to do with my body, and you guys can do what you want to do with your body. Let’s just let it be that.”
Hailey and Justin, who tied the knot in 2018, have plans to make their parenting journey a “private, intimate thing” shared exclusively between them. Hailey expressed her anticipation of motherhood, stating, “It’s something that’s going to come when it comes.”
Initially, Hailey desired to raise her future children away from the public eye. However, she acknowledged the inevitability of attention given her Grammy-winning husband, Justin. She clarified that her perspective about privacy has evolved since she made those initial remarks, explaining, “Maybe I liked the idea at 18 of not raising kids around certain things, but my life is so different now.”
Hailey also opened up about her concerns regarding potential criticism from detractors regarding her and Justin’s future children. She admitted feeling scared and sometimes shedding tears when thinking about the judgments that might be cast upon their family.
While Justin Bieber has been vocal about his desire to have children, he mentioned in a 2020 interview with Ellen DeGeneres that Hailey wasn’t quite “ready” for that next step. He expressed his support for his wife’s autonomy over her body and the timing of their family plans, saying, “It’s her body and whatever she wants to do. … I’m going to have as many [children] as Hailey is willing to push out.” Justin also acknowledged that Hailey had her own aspirations to accomplish as a woman before embracing motherhood.
