Erika Kirk Says Female Voters Are Relying On Government Instead Of Marriage

Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk has shared her thoughts on New York City’s new mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Kirk claims many young women voted for him because they want government support instead of family support.

Speaking at The New York Times DealBook Summit, Kirk explained she once lived in Manhattan and “loved this city.”

But she thinks the city influences how women see relationships and politics.

Kirk Says Women View Government As A “Replacement”

NYT host Andrew Ross Sorkin noted Mamdani is the first Muslim mayor and a democratic socialist.

He also said Mamdani captured younger voters, mostly women, who differ politically from Charlie Kirk’s supporters.

Erika answered that she wanted to speak “as a female voter” watching those trends.

“I think there’s a tendency, especially in Manhattan, to look to government as replacement,” she said.

She suggested some women delay marriage or kids because they feel the government can support them.

“What I don’t want is women seeing the government as the solution,” Kirk said.

She added that combining support with a husband is better than depending on public services.

Kirk then claimed she found it “ironic” that so many Mamdani voters were women.

Internet Users Dragged Kirk’s Comments Hard

Many commenters online called the remarks inaccurate and out of touch with real city life.

Former Teen Vogue editor Elaine Welteroth posted: “Sorry what? The government supports single working women in Manhattan?!!”

She joked: “Let us know when that bill gets passed sis 😂.”

Journalist Katie Couric also responded with: “Wait, what??????”

Another commenter mocked Kirk’s take: “Whenever I need love nyc.gov is always there. My pookie.”

Others pointed out the contradiction of a female CEO telling women to avoid careers.

“Soooo a female CEO is worried other women become CEOs and should become mothers?” one person wrote.
