Britney Spears’ Mom, Lynee, Allegedly Working as Substitute Teacher as She Struggles to Pay Bills

Lynne Spears, mother of pop sensation Britney Spears, is reportedly facing financial difficulties, allegedly stemming from her strained relationship with her multimillionaire daughter.

According to an anonymous insider speaking to the Daily Mail, Lynne, 68, has taken up a part-time job as a substitute teacher in an attempt to make ends meet.

The source claims that Lynne has substituted for several classes at a local school, but these claims remain unverified independently.

While the source attributes Lynne’s financial struggles to her “complicated relationship” with Britney, it’s worth noting that her Instagram bio identifies her as a Rodan and Fields independent consultant, a role that can yield an annual income ranging from $18,000 to $110,000, as per Indeed.com.

She also seems to run a blog titled “The MustardSeeds” with a small following of friends, focusing on local shops and restaurants near her residence. However, it appears to be more of a passion project than a significant income source.

In the past, when her children, including Britney, Bryan, and Jamie Lynn Spears, were growing up, Lynne operated her own preschool and daycare center. However, there have been no recent social media posts related to her teaching career.

Notably, Lynne did seek financial assistance from her eldest daughter in April 2022, nearly five months after Britney’s conservatorship was terminated.

Lynne requested Britney to cover the legal fees she had accumulated during the guardianship, which amounted to over $660,000. Her attorneys argued that this fee request was a small sum compared to the millions spent by Jamie Spears to maintain Britney’s conservatorship, which was against her wishes and interests.

Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosegart, opposed this request, highlighting Britney’s role as the family’s primary breadwinner and her extensive financial support provided to Lynne over the years. In October 2022, Lynne withdrew her request, as reported by the Blast.

Despite these financial difficulties, Britney Spears has continued to enjoy professional success. She released a song titled “Mind Your Business” with Will.i.am in July, is set to release an anticipated memoir titled “The Woman in Me” on October 24, and will see her 2002 film “Crossroads” re-released in theaters on October 23 and 25, from which she will “financially profit,” according to an exclusive source that confirmed this to the publication.
