Billie Eilish’s See Through Met Gala Dress Causes a Stir

The annual Met Gala event held on the first Tuesday of May is a highly-anticipated event in the fashion industry, and this year was no different.

With the theme of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” celebrities pulled out all the stops to pay homage to the late fashion designer.

As expected, attendees came dressed to impress, with Kim Kardashian and Rita Ora making a splash with their standout looks.

However, one outfit that caught our eye was worn by none other than Billie Eilish, who brought her signature gothic glamour to the event.

The singer was dressed in a custom Simone Rocha dress made of black lace with matching gloves, a black Agent Provocateur corset, and thigh-high stockings in the same fabric.

She completed the look with black platform peep-toe stilettos by Piferi, silver Cartier jewelry, and sequined barrettes and black ribbons in her hair.

Billie has attended the Met Gala three times now, and it’s clear that she has a preferred style.

Her debut in 2021 saw her in a stunning Oscar de la Renta princess dress, complete with a corseted bodice and a peach tulle train.

The following year, she opted for an ornate Gucci gown with a blue and gold corset and a satin skirt.

Now, in 2023, she once again dons a corset and a lingerie-esque dress, which seems to have become her signature Met Gala look.

While some might argue that Billie’s style is getting repetitive, we think it’s a testament to her unique aesthetic and her commitment to staying true to herself.

As she said in an interview with Vogue, “I’m not going to wear something because it’s what’s expected of me to wear.” Instead, she chooses to wear what makes her feel comfortable and confident, and that’s exactly what she did at this year’s Met Gala.

Billie’s see-through lingerie dress may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s undeniably a bold fashion statement.

As Simone Rocha herself said in an interview with Vogue, “I wanted to create something that was both delicate and strong at the same time, like Billie herself.”

The black lace overlay and silver embellishments give the dress a delicate touch, while the see-through fabric and the corset add a strong, sexy vibe

Overall, we think Billie nailed the gothic glamour look at this year’s Met Gala.

As Billie herself said in an Instagram post, “Thank you to the Met for having me back. I had the time of my life.”

Stunning!
