4-Month-old Baby Found in Tree after Tennessee Tornado

In a miraculous turn of events, a four-month-old baby named Lord was found alive in a tree after a devastating tornado struck Clarksville, Tennessee, tearing apart his family’s mobile home. The tornado, which occurred on Saturday, December 9, not only destroyed the family’s residence but also swept up the infant in his bassinet.

Sydney Moore, a 22-year-old mother of two, recounted the harrowing experience to WSMV-TV. She described how her boyfriend, the father of the child, attempted to secure the bassinet as the tornado hit, only to be caught up in the storm himself. “He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown,” Moore explained.

During the chaos, Moore protected her one-year-old son, Princeton, as their home crumbled around them. “Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son. Literally, the moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed,” she said. “I was being really crushed. I couldn’t breathe.”

After the tornado passed, Moore, with Princeton, managed to escape the wreckage. She and her boyfriend then embarked on a frantic search for baby Lord, which lasted about 10 minutes. Incredibly, they found him lying in a fallen tree amidst the pouring rain. “I thought he was dead,” Moore admitted. “I was pretty sure he was dead and we weren’t going to find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God.”

Miraculously, the children and Moore suffered only minor injuries, but the father sustained a broken arm and shoulder. The family lost everything in the tornado, prompting Moore’s sister, Caitlyn, to set up a GoFundMe page to aid in their recovery.

Caitlyn detailed the family’s dire situation on the fundraising page, noting the loss of their car, home, and essential items like formula and diapers. She also shared that baby Lord had a minor concussion and a gash on his ear that required gluing. Remarkably, she observed that “he looked like he was placed on the tree gently,” as if “an angel guided him safely to that spot.”

The GoFundMe campaign has been a beacon of hope for the family, raising $102,015 at the time of writing, exceeding the $100,000 target. The funds will be used to purchase a new home, vehicle, insurance, and other necessities. Moore expressed her unwavering commitment to her children, stating, “I will die for my kids. That’s not even a question. And my boyfriend would do the same thing.”

This story of survival and resilience in the face of a natural disaster has touched many hearts. The family’s ordeal underscores the unpredictability of such events and the importance of community support in times of crisis. The miraculous survival of baby Lord serves as a testament to the strength and perseverance of the human spirit.
