WWE Star Sara Lee’s Cause of Death Confirmed

Sara Lee, a former WWE wrestler who won the organization’s “Tough Enough” show, passed away in October due to suicide, as per a recent autopsy report obtained by TMZ Sports.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office documents revealed that Lee had taken a deadly combination of pills and alcohol.

The former wrestler had left “letters of intent at the scene” before her death. She was just 30 years old.

According to the officials’ documents, Lee had bruises and abrasions on her head and body when she passed away.

However, they believed that she might have suffered the injuries in a fall or falls while she was intoxicated.

News of her death had a significant impact on the wrestling world.

In a statement, the WWE expressed its heartbreak over the loss of Sara Lee, who served as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world. “WWE offers its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and fans,” the statement read.

Lee’s participation in season six of “Tough Enough” in 2015 earned her a one-year contract with the WWE, where she wrestled for most of 2016.

However, she left the organization for the independent circuit shortly after. In 2017, she married WWE wrestler Wesley Blake, with whom she had three children.

Days after Lee’s passing, Blake wrote an emotional note to his wife on Instagram. “You were a motivator, a best friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, the backbone of our family, and (my favorite), my wife,” he wrote. “I can’t promise that I will stop grieving, but I know now that you’re free. I can’t thank you enough for giving me the best years of my life so far.”

The tragedy of Sara Lee’s death underscores the importance of addressing mental health issues, particularly in high-stress and high-performance environments such as professional wrestling.

As renowned wrestler Triple H said in a recent interview, “We’re trying to take care of our performers on a much more holistic basis now.”

Hopefully, her passing will serve as a reminder that mental health concerns must be taken seriously and addressed promptly.

RIP.
