A Tennessee couple has gone viral after welcoming a baby who looks noticeably different from both parents.
The mom says it’s because she has “1% African heritage,” but the internet isn’t buying it.
Rachel, a cashier at Celina 52 Truck Stop in Celina, Tennessee, gave birth to her son, Cash Jamal Buckman, on February 17.
Her workplace proudly posted a photo of Rachel, fiancé Paul Buckman, and baby Cash on Facebook.
People quickly noticed something unusual.
Both parents are white, and the baby appears to be Black.
That sparked thousands of comments, jokes, questions, and claims of possible infidelity.
Some users commented that Paul might not be the biological father. Others joked about hospital mix-ups, while many simply couldn’t resist memes.
The truck stop edited its post to shut down rumors.
It said: “Yes, Paul is the father. Rachel has African American DNA in her which can skip generations and cause a child to be born with darker skin. The baby is also a [bit] discolored because it has jaundice or something probably. Please be kind.”

The internet immediately called bluff.
Comments poured in like, “I feel sorry for Paul,” and “Best birth control ad ever.”
Mom posts DNA results to ‘prove’ her claim
Rachel clapped back, sharing her alleged DNA results.
The screenshot showed she is “1% Cameroon, Congo and Western Bantu peoples.”
She wrote: “For the haters saying that I dont have black DNA maybe this will clear it up … He IS the father of Lil Cash.”
But that only made the jokes stronger.

Someone wrote: “That’s the strongest 1% I’ve ever seen. This looks like a job for Maury.”
Another commented: “I have that too, and both my babies look Irish as a boiled potato.”
TikTok users jumped in, too.
One creator, @omgkeez95, has racked up over six million views reacting to the story.
He said: “I know Rachel ain’t tell Paul this his d— baby.”
He added: “But hey, if Paul’s happy, so am I.”
Dad starts making cryptic Facebook posts
As the story exploded, all eyes turned to Paul.
He posted: “Have you ever had the feeling that everyone is laughing at you?”
In another post, he confirmed he has requested a DNA test.

Some people supported him.
Comments included “Good choice Paul. Everyone deserves the truth.”
But others didn’t hold back.
One user wrote: “Sir, Helen Keller could tell that’s not your child. Save your money.”
Meanwhile, the original Facebook post has been shared over 33,000 times.
TikTok creators, meme pages, and even news outlets have joined the chaos.
The plot keeps getting wilder
The truck stop eventually posted a sarcastic update.
It read: “Celina 52 is closed today while we polygraph and DNA test all employees and staff.”
“We will reopen upon conclusion of the investigation.”
Some people now believe the page might be satire.
But no one can officially confirm it.
Even so, thousands are hooked on the saga.
And everyone is waiting for the DNA test results, like it’s an episode of Maury.
For now, all we know is Paul, Rachel, and baby Cash are at the center of one of the most chaotic internet mysteries of the year.
And yes, we’ve got popcorn too.
UPDATE: Since the post went viral, Celina 52 Truck Stop has confirmed husband Paul has been fired from the job and his facebook page states he is relationship status is ‘separated’.
