What should have been a wholesome group snap of six friends on a hike has instead left the internet seriously creeped out — thanks to what looks like a mysterious seventh face.
The picture, taken during a hike in Chile, shows the group smiling happily with a lush green backdrop and other walkers in the distance. At first glance, it’s just another cheerful selfie.
But look a little closer, and you’ll spot something that doesn’t quite belong.
Between two women on the left-hand side of the photo, an eerie face can be seen peeking out — almost like it’s photobombing from another world.
The unsettling detail was first picked up by users on Reddit’s r/whenyouseeit thread, and it’s safe to say the comments section went wild.
“I am not exaggerating when I say that when I finally saw it, I got goosebumps and felt genuine fear. What the f***. I believe in ghosts again now,” one spooked user wrote.
Another added: “My dumba** was looking at the red thing in the bottom left corner. I was like, ‘Uhhh, looks like someone was just cut out the pic…’ Then BOOM, I saw it. Runs to hide under the covers.”
A third simply said: “That is the creepiest thing! I did not expect that!”
Creepy Or Just A Coincidence?
Of course, not everyone is convinced it’s supernatural. Some argued there’s a perfectly normal explanation.
“It’s just a person that’s also in the group with their face being hidden in shadow by the two around it, and made to look creepy with that intense blue filter,” one person suggested.
“You can even see the top of the person’s head and hair illuminated normally by the daylight.”
But plenty of others weren’t buying it.
“It gave me chills, for sure,” another user said. “Usually, I just laugh these things off or assume the photo is doctored … but not this time. It’s very clearly something/someone that doesn’t belong there.”
Whether it’s a trick of the light, clever positioning, or something more sinister, one thing’s for sure: once you see that seventh face, you can’t unsee it.
