Netflix Drops Official Trailer for The Witcher Season 3

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the highly anticipated third season of The Witcher, featuring the return of Henry Cavill as the iconic Geralt of Rivia.

In the brand new trailer, Cavill is joined by Anya Chalotra as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla of Cintra, and Joey Batey as the bard Jaskier. The upcoming season will be divided into two parts, with the first set to premiere on June 29, followed by the second part on July 27.

Netflix has released a synopsis for the third season, offering a glimpse into the thrilling storyline that awaits viewers:

“As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line – or risk losing each other forever.”

Excitement is building around the third season, as it is also confirmed to be Henry Cavill’s last season portraying Geralt. Liam Hemsworth has been announced as Cavill’s successor, taking over the role in the fourth season.

Speculation has circulated regarding Cavill’s departure from the show, with rumors suggesting disagreements with the showrunners regarding the faithful adaptation of the source material. Cavill is known to be a devoted fan of Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy series.

The Witcher made its debut on Netflix in 2019 and quickly garnered a massive following, attracting an impressive 76 million viewers to the platform and becoming Netflix’s most-watched debut series of that year. Despite the show’s success, there were concerns about the possibility of a third season, considering Netflix’s tendency to cancel shows after one or two seasons.

Fortunately, those fears have been put to rest, and fans can now eagerly anticipate the upcoming third season, set to premiere at the end of this month.

Excitement is palpable among fans as they took to social media to express their enthusiasm. One fan tweeted, “Trailer of The Witcher got me screaming internally.. I’m both excited and sad..one last time Henry Cavill as Geralt…”

Can’t wait to see it!
