Stranger Things fans, this one might disappoint you.
To say the show was a huge success would be a massive understatement, and with the show soon coming to an end after 5 seasons, it looks like there’s plans to continue the franchise in a spin-off movie.
However, it’s not all good news, as Eleven star Millie Bobby Brown, won’t be taking part, and reportedly turned down pretty huge pay check to star in the film.
The reason why? The 19 year-old actress wants to branch out in her career, and focus on playing other roles.
Whilst nothing has been confirmed by Netflix yet, from previous interviews with Brown, it seems like she’s ready to say goodbye to her role in Stranger Things.
“I’m definitely ready to wrap up,” she told Seventeen earlier this month.”
“I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it, it’s been in our lives for a very long time. But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones. I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful [for that show].”
Millie added that she’s currently focused on school, saying, “With my job being so emotional, it’s really nice to just be able to detach from that and learn about something that’s really interesting for me.”
”I’m really aware of how privileged I am to have the access to education and to learn more about the things that I want to learn about, and then help others in retrieving that education in communities and areas that young people aren’t able to access curriculums. It’s just a circle that keeps giving.”
Stranger Things is due to release a fifth and final season this summer, where the star will reprise her role as the telekinetic Eleven one more time.
The actress has been playing the role since 2016, when she was just 11 years old. Now 19, it looks like she’s understandably excited to explore what else is out there.
It’s here that Millie found her footing in the industry. And young Millie’s role as Eleven has well and truly rocketed her to stardom.
She’s recently found success in films Enola Homes 1 & 2, where she played the lead role of Enola, as well as staring in Godzilla VS Kong in 2021.
We cant wait to see what the future holds for her!
