Meghan Trainor’s recent podcast interview where she discussed her sex life with her husband Daryl Sabara has shocked her fans and left many of them feeling uncomfortable. Trainor, who is 29 years old, and Sabara, 30, who tied the knot in 2018 and have two children, have been experiencing some struggles in their sex life since they became parents.
On her podcast, Workin’ On It, Trainor got candid about her sex life with her brother and co-host Ryan Trainor, and guest Trisha Paytas. She admitted that Sabara was “a big boy” down below but went on to say that she suffered from a condition called vaginismus, which made sexual activity painful for her.
“I was told I have something called vaginismus, I thought that every woman walking around was always in pain after sex,” she said. “I was like, ‘doc, are you telling me that I could have sex and not feel a single bit of pain?'”
Vaginismus is a condition that causes involuntary muscle spasms around the vagina, which can make it extremely painful or uncomfortable to engage in sexual activity. Trainor also revealed that sex became unbearable after she gave birth to her first child. “He would penetrate, I would be like, ‘Ow, ow, ow’, like, to the point when… I had to ice myself after,” she said.
Trainor added that she had tried various positions to make sex less painful, but it didn’t work. “I’m like, ‘Please, no, for so many reasons. I’m like, ‘Don’t look at me. I don’t like this. This hurts way worse’,” she replied when asked about getting on top.
While some fans found the interview amusing, others were shocked by Trainor’s candid revelations, especially since her husband was a former child actor who had starred in Spy Kids. “The boy from Spy Kids!? Eww please no. Don’t ruin my childhood with that info,” one Twitter user wrote. Another added, “It’s ok not to tell us everything. Just because you are ‘famous’… What’s off-limits?”
Trainor’s admission about her sex life has been criticised by some fans who have labelled her “tacky” for oversharing. However, others have praised her for speaking out about vaginismus, a condition that affects many women but is rarely talked about in public.
“I think it’s great that Meghan is being open about her condition. It’s important to raise awareness and help others who may be going through the same thing,” one fan wrote.
Trainor’s interview has certainly caused a stir, but it has also opened up a dialogue about a condition that affects many women. It remains to be seen whether Trainor will continue to be so candid about her personal life, but one thing is certain: she has got people talking.
