Shocking news has been announced that Jerry Springer, a renowned talk show presenter, has died at the age of 79.
And now, his family have confirmed his cause of death…
Jerry’s family broke the heartbreaking news in an emotional statement, saying he had been diagnosed with cancer a few months prior and had peacefully passed away at his Chicago home following a sudden decline in his health this week.
In their statements about their loss, Jerry’s family also praised him as a devoted spouse, father, and grandfather. They praised him for his constant optimism and his capacity for humour in even the most trying circumstances.
“He was always there for us, no matter what,” said Jerry’s wife, Micki Velton. “We will miss him terribly, but we know that his legacy will live on through the countless people whose lives he touched.”
Jerry’s daughter, Katie Springer, also paid tribute to her father, saying that he had always been her role model and that she was proud to have him as her dad. “He taught me so much about life and love,” she said. “I will always be grateful for the time I had with him, and I know that he will continue to inspire me and so many others for years to come.”
A spokesperson for the Springer family said: “Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word.
“He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humour will live on.”
Although Jerry Springer’s passing has surely created a significant vacuum in the entertainment industry, his legacy will endure thanks to the innumerable lives he touched over his career. Future generations will be inspired by his capacity to relate to people from all walks of life and by his constant optimism and humour.
Rest in peace.
