Jamie Foxx has broken his silence on his recent health issues which have led to his long-term hospitalization, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the actor and singer thanked his fans and followers for their love and well-wishes.
He wrote, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed,” accompanied by emojis of praying hands, a red heart, and a fox.
Foxx, who is 55 years old, was hospitalized for a medical emergency in April and has been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness ever since.
His daughter, Corinne, revealed in a social media post that he was rushed to the hospital due to a “medical complication,” but assured fans that he was already on his way to recovery.
She wrote, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Despite the mystery surrounding his illness, Foxx has remained upbeat and positive throughout his hospitalization.
He expressed his appreciation for Nick Cannon, who stepped in to host Foxx’s show “Beat Shazam” while he was away.
Foxx wrote on his Instagram Story, “Appreciate ya my boy @NickCannon. See u all soon.”
The show also released a statement announcing that Cannon would be filling in for Foxx with the help of Kelly Osbourne as DJ.
“Everyone at FOX Entertainment wishes Jamie well as he continues his recovery, and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer,” the statement read.
Foxx’s recent health issues come after reports that he had a meltdown on the set of his new movie with Cameron Diaz.
The film temporarily halted filming, but it resumed a few days later with a body double for Foxx.
Despite the setback, sources have reported that Foxx’s health has been steadily improving. Another source confirmed that he was awake and alert, which is a positive sign for his recovery.
Foxx’s optimistic attitude and gratitude for the support he has received during this challenging time serve as a reminder of the power of positivity and the importance of having a strong support system.
