Gwyneth Paltrow has recently won a pretty high-profile court case that’s taken the media by storm.
What’s the court case about? – Well, back in 2016, the actress was involved in an incident in a ski resort in Utah with Terry Sanderson. Sanderson, 76, is suing Paltrow for allegedly crashing into him and causing him life altering injuries.
He claimed that the incident left him with a permanent traumatic brain injury that robbed him of “his enjoyment for life”, and much of the lawsuit dug into deeply personal details of his medical situation and psychology.
However, Paltrow has countersued, and claimed that he actually collided into her. It seems the two had very different accounts of what happened.
After over a week of proceedings, a verdict was finally reached.

And whilst Sanderson was suing Paltrow for $300,000, what she asked for in the result of her win, is very different, seeking just $1 and compensation for her legal fees.
However, Sanderson didn’t end up receiving his big pay out, as he was declared ‘100 per cent’ at fault for the skiing accident, Sky News reported.
Speaking to NBC afterwards, Paltrow said: “I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity,” she said.
“I am pleased with the outcome, and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.”
As she left the courtroom, she could be seen whispering one final message into the ear of plaintiff Sanderson.
According to the Associated Press, Mr Sanderson told reporters outside the courtroom that she had touched his shoulder and told him, “I wish you well.”
Mr Sanderson said he responded with a simple “Thank you, dear.”
Walking away with her $1 winnings, who knows what she’ll decide to splash the cash on.
