Emily Ratajkowski Slammed For ‘Inappropriate’ Oscars Dress

Emily Ratajkowski turned heads in a completely sheer gown on Sunday night, as she stepped out for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2023 red carpet.

But not everyone thought her choice of clothing was an appropriate one…

The 31 year old certainly turned heads on the carpet, and could be seen wearing a naked dress from London designer Feben — complete with lace-up details wrapped around her back and front.

She complete the statement look with a nude thong underneath the shimmering gown, paired with statement earrings and barely visible heels. She also pulled her hair back in a tight bun, and went for a simple glam smokey eye look.

Ratajkowski has never been one to stray away from a daring red carpet look before, and her confidence has especially flourished since the beginning of the year.

During an interview on the Going Mental podcast earlier this month, the My Body author, who split from film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard in September 2022 after four years of marriage, revealed she didn’t have the strength to get out earlier.

“I didn’t have the courage to leave for a long time. I was really, really unhappy,” Ratajkowski said. “I was, like, 100 pounds and I had just had a baby. I got really skinny ’cause I was not OK.”

“I tried to take antidepressants,” she added, “trying everything” to make herself happy. “I was sure there was something wrong with me. I think so much of what I learned coming out of that relationship is to trust your instincts,” she continued.

Although the model rocked the red carpet, her outfit certainly provoked a mixed reaction from fans, and many have slammed her for her ‘inappropriate’ dress and questioned if she’s normalising nudity.

”Trashy what ever happened to grace and elegance,” wrote one person.

Another said ”Seems like they’re all trying to out do each other, who can look worse. If they are supposed to look sexy, well, it’s not working.”

Whilst many found her look lacked class, others on Twitter were quick to jump to her defence.

”Gorgeous,” wrote another.

What do you think of the dress?
