Bruce Willis Speaks Publicly for First Time Since Dementia Diagnosis While Celebrating 68th Birthday

Fans have been treated to rare sighting of legendary actor Bruce Willis, who was seen celebrating his 68th birthday on Sunday.

A clip of the Die Hard actor, surrounded by current wife Emma Heming Willis and daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, was posted on Instagram by ex wife Demi Moore, who also attended the birthday celebrations.

Surrounded by his closest family, the room was all smiles as they sang to Willis.

The movie icon too seemed in high birthday spirits, dancing slightly and ending the video with a sweet kiss with wife Emma.

He sang along to a few of the words and talked to the other guests as he blew out the candles on his birthday pie.

“Happy birthday, BW! So glad we could celebrate you today. Love you and love our family. Thank you to everyone for the love and warm wishes — we all feel them,” Moore captained the heartwarming video.

The comments of the clip were soon flooded with fans showing their love to the actor and his family, sending birthday wishes his way.

”Happy Birthday beautiful Bruce!!!🎂🎉 Thanks for all the great movies over the years. I’ve been a fan since day one ❤️🙌😍 love you and hope to still see on screen one day soon!👏😍,” said one fan.

”Happy birthday to Bruce you got this. Thank you for sharing Demi, love you guys,” said another, thanking Demi for showing her followers the sweet clip.

”Happy birthday to this legend,” added a third.

This comes after the family shared the devastating news that Willis had been diagnosed with a condition called Frontotemporal dementia, also known as FTD.

They shared a statement that said: “Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).”

FTD, refers to a collection of disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. The diseases that fall under this umbrella are neurodegenerative, meaning they get worse over time.

Since his diagnosis, wife Emma Heming Willis has been taking to social media regularly, to raise awareness for her husband’s condition – even sharing a candid video the morning of his birthday, where she admitted to spending the morning crying.

“So today is my husband’s birthday,” she began.

“I have started the morning by crying. As you can see by my swollen eyes and snotty nose, I just think it’s important you see all sides of this.”

“I always get this message or people always tell me like, ‘Oh you’re so strong, I don’t know how you do it’. I’m not given a choice.”

“I wish I was.”

“But I’m also raising two kids in this.”

“So sometimes in our lives we have to put our big girl panties on and get to it. And that’s what I’m doing.

“But I do have times of sadness every day. Grief everyday. And I’m really feeling it today on his birthday.”

Happy birthday Bruce Willis!
