Brad Pitt Once Bid $120k for a Night with Emilia Clarke

Many of us have fantasized about spending a night with our favorite celebrity.

Emilia Clarke, who rose to fame with her role as Daenerys Targaryen in the hit series Game of Thrones, is no exception.

She revealed that she was once the object of Brad Pitt’s affection during a charity auction in LA.

Though the thought of being bid on by a Hollywood A-lister might seem like the start of a romantic movie, Clarke shared that the experience was far less glamorous than one might expect.

The 36-year-old actor had initially been asked to participate in a charity silent auction, which was hosted by Sean Penn, in 2017.

She was hesitant to take part in the event and her fear only grew when she attended the lavish LA event the following year.

The star-studded event, which Clarke described as “basically the Oscars,” had a lot of celebrities in attendance, and she suddenly remembered that she had agreed to auction something off.

“I was petrified, absolutely petrified,” Clarke admitted on the Graham Norton Show.

She had agreed to auction off an experience, like watching the Game of Thrones show with the highest bidder.

Clarke revealed that she devised a plan with her friend, who was sitting at the same table, to bid on her so she wouldn’t be embarrassed.

However, things didn’t go as planned when she saw who the other bidder was.

“I was like thanks very much, it’s very sweet, and then someone else’s paddle went up on the other side of the room,” said Clarke as she spoke about Brad Pitt’s bid.

According to Vanity Fair, the ensuing bidding war saw Pitt offer $80,000 (£63k) to watch the fantasy series with Clarke. But the bids didn’t stop coming, with Pitt then upping his offer to $90k (£71k) and then a staggering $120,0000 (£94k).

Unfortunately, Clarke didn’t realize who had bid on her in time and thought her friend was joking when they told her about Pitt’s offer. “I was thinking this is mental and then someone else said, it’s Brad Pitt and then I went lol,” she revealed, gushing, “And then I look over to the room and Brad has his paddle up.”

In the end, despite spending a king’s ransom, Pitt was outbid, and Clarke never got to have her night-in with him.

The experience was certainly one she won’t forget anytime soon, as she described it as both exciting and nerve-wracking.

As she put it, “There’s just not much you can do in that situation other than just say thank you very much and hope that it’s going to a good cause.”
